Our office staff works Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM. Our handymen set their own schedules, which may be outside of these hours, including nights and weekends.
We don’t currently have a physical location. Our office staff members live locally but work remotely.
Our handymen are happy to offer free ballpark estimates by phone or email. Since we are a “small job” handyman service, we don’t make home visits for every job. For jobs that require an on-site visit, we offer an $89 On-Site Assessment. The OSA comes with an in-person consultation followed by a detailed quote that is guaranteed for 90 days.
You will be contacted within 48 hours, unless you informed us the job was time-sensitive, in which case you can expect to hear from us sooner!
When we assign a handyman to your project, we send an email with his/her bio and contact info. At any time, feel free to reach out to the handyman directly. Please contact our office by phone or email if you do not get a response within 48 hours.
Since our handymen set their own schedules, we cannot promise same-day service. Please contact our office by phone for urgent requests, and we will do our best to accommodate.
We base our quotes on an hourly rate of $89 plus materials. After the first hour, you will be billed in 15 minute increments. For larger projects, our handymen will quote for the project in its entirety.
Yes. We have a minimum of a one hour charge of $89.
Payment is due upon completion. Your handyman will email you an invoice by email that will contain a link for you to pay by card. We also accept cash, check, and Venmo. Checks should be made out to Scout Home Services.
That’s totally up to you! Tips are not expected, just appreciated. We pay our handymen well, knowing that we are paying for the best! But if you would like to show your thanks, feel free to tip.
Yes. We will stand behind our work. If the work was not done correctly or our work caused additional problems, we will make it right as soon as possible. Any materials used will be subject to the manufacturer’s warranty.
Yes. We are happy to provide a copy of our business license and certificate of insurance. Please contact our office by phone or email.
No. The handyman assigned to your project will be the person completing the work. You can have confidence that each handyman is an employee of Scout Home Services.
Yes. Our handymen are independent contractors. This means that they are free to have other jobs. Most of our handymen consider themselves “part-time” and have other careers and responsibilities. We assign jobs based on the handyman’s individual skill set and availability. Our handymen are thoroughly vetted and held to the highest standards.
